JANE M. ADAMS, LCSW #21894
Jane has over ten years of experience working with alternative lifestyles, crisis intervention, and with a variety of approaches to helping women and men of all orientations.

Always in top standing, Jane completed her social work degree at Radford University in Virginia. She continued at Radford as a professor of social work for undergraduate and graduate students. She has taught Psychology at University of Phoenix, and has developed a number of workshops and groups including: support and spiritual/ritual groups for women; “Eating disorders and body image”; and “Mythology and meaning” for men.

She completed a Fellowship at the Psychiatric Hospital of the Veteran’s Administration in Salem, Virginia, and went on to the Lewis Gale Medical Center there, where she worked in outpatient and acute care, specializing in the use of Psychodrama as therapy, and was elected Social Worker of the Year in 2000.

Her research on alternative sexual lifestyles is published as “Depression and the Transgendered Individual”.
Since 2000, Jane has worked at the Napa State Hospital working with individuals and running groups. She is adept at helping those with long-term resistance to treatment; with sex offenders; and in preparing those able, to transition to outpatient care.
In 2004, she orchestrated for local professionals a seminar on “Human sexuality and alternative sexual expressions”, which was attended with standing room only.

Jane continues her work at Napa State Hospital, teaching, and is now seeing clients in the community who need her expertise. Compassionate, practical, and encouraging, she works with individuals and families on all issues, but especially with people in need of help with depression; in life crisis; recent and past trauma/post traumatic stress; and women and men with gender issues and concerns.
